Lalenth: a beautiful yet lonely feudal city. As long as it has existed it has been ruled by the six great families that founded it. Its populous are rational creatures guided by what they can see, feel and measure; untroubled by superstition. It is isolated, encircled by hostile territories populated by creatures from your nightmares. Only the brave Huntsmen ever leave its walls to seek out game and essential supplies. For so long it has stood firm, dissent against its rulers never troubling it, change naught but a slow and predictable turning of the wheel.

No longer. Rumour has it that the nobles intend to levy a tax heavier than ever before and already guild and commoner alike begin to murmur and whisper. Furthermore, recent inexplicable events have shaken the rational core of Lalenth, leading it’s denizens to consider possibilities once believed to be the nothing but foolish fable and fantasy. For the first time, not even the wisest of Thread Weavers nor the most powerful of nobles can explain to the people what is happening. Cracks have begun to show in the Great Six’s lines. Bloodlines are failing, corruption uncovered, loyalties shifting and trust is crumbling.
