The Larkwood Family
The Larkwoods are rich; extremely rich. They own the majority of the vast orchards on the comparatively safe east side of the city and are almost completely responsible for Lalenth's soft fruit, apple, grape, and honey production. The estate employs hundreds. It produces wine, mead, soft fruits, apple, and all bee products. Their mead is famous, and has greatly added to their wealth. The patent of permissions to sell the mead is currently for sale, its previous owner having met an untimely end, and doubtless this deal will further increase the Larkwood's revenue.
Indeed things have never been so good for this wealthy family of traders. The house is thriving under the leadership of Symon Larkwood; an astute businessman with great political acumen and a potent Thread Weaver. Already his has shown himself competent and sensible. For years there had existed a rift between House Larkwood and House Vishreon pertaining to the birth of General Rakona Vishreon. However upon the death of his father, and that of General Vishreon's father, his first act was to ensure the rift between the two houses was healed. Now the two frequently support one another in the Council of Six, to the benefit of both. As the General was heard to say "The quarrel was our father's - what matters it to us?" As yet Symon is unmarried and without a doubt a very eligible young man.
There are two other noteworthy members of this family. The first is Symon's younger brother, Gavriel. He is the family's master brewer, and has perfected many of their best selling lines including their mead. He is currently trying to find a way to employ the Threads in his brewing, hoping to make a more potent wine. Symon also has a younger sister, Raine. She has only recently come into full womanhood but already has ambitious plans for her future. An intelligent young woman, Raine is spending much of her time pondering on how to insure that she becomes one of the most notable ladies in Lalenth. It was believed that she once had designs on Lord Evron, and this could explain her somewhat frosty behaviour towards Lady Evron. Doubtless, with her wit, she will achieve her ends.
