The Evron Family
The Larkwoods are rich: extremely rich. They own the majority of the vast orchards on the comparatively safe east side of the city and are almost completely responsible for Lalenth’s soft fruit, apple, grape and honey production. The estate employs hundreds. It produces wine, mead, soft fruits, apple and all bee products. Their mead is famous, and has greatly added to their wealth. Ekron Advanta has just purchased exclusive rights to the Larkwood mead, creating even further revenue for the family. Indeed things have never been so good for this wealthy family of traders. They should be celebrating but a visit to their home will find mourning, not joy. The Head of the Household, Penter Larkwood, died very recently. His eldest son Symon took up the mantle of leadership, but it will be a while before the family recover from the death of this jovial man. Aided by his father’s widow, Loren Larkwood, Symon is still settling in to his new role. There is always unease when a new family member takes leadership of a house and Symon’s ascension is no exception. It is known there was no love lost between General Vishreon and Penter Larkwood. No-one certain for the cause of the dissent and it has yet to have caused any problems beyond a few uncomfortable silences at dinner. It is yet to be seen whether Symon has inherited his father’s dislike of the General. There are two other noteworthy members of this family. The first is Symon’s younger brother, Gavriel. He is the family’s master brewer and has perfected many of their best selling lines including their mead. He is currently trying to find a way to employ the Threads in his brewing, hoping to make a more potent wine. He is married to Isabeau Advanta, the daughter of Rameau Advanta, who is head of the Merchant’s Guild. Symon also has a younger sister, Raine. She has only recently come into full womanhood but already has ambitious plans for her future. An intelligent young woman, Raine is spending much of her time pondering on how to insure that she becomes the next Lady Evron. She eagerly awaits the next Nevernight Festival. Blake Alacosts’ Guide to Lalenth Fashion: On first inspection the attire of the Larkwood House is simple. The lines are flowing but unelaborated by bustles and frills. They favour the deep greens and browns of their coat of arms. It is only on closer inspection that elegant details become apparent. Fine embroidery, often in the same colour of the cloth, embellishes hems and cuffs; side seams are laced with ribbons or soft suede lacing. The hair is often bound in muslin scarves or braided back into neat plaits. | |
