The Evron Family

Evron Crest

Lord Jase Evron had always had a fascination with light and reflections. He would spend hours watching rainbows and drawing them in meticulous detail. Nothing reflected the light as beautifully as the electric blue lalenthrium. Light falling upon it would shatter into all colours imaginable and Jase Evron would stare at it entranced.

He commissioned the head of the Smiths Guild to create for him a mirror backed with lalenthrium. Such excess had seldom seen and it took three seasons to collect enough lalenthrium for even a small mirror. When it was completed it was hailed as one of the most beautiful objects ever made. Its frame was made of mother of pearl and the lalenthrium back protected by fine crystal glass. It was upon gazing into this wondrous object that Jase saw the fine twisting strands of colour and light that surrounded him. Hence the Threads were discovered. Ever since this vital discovery, the Evron family has enjoyed elite status. If any matters of great importance arise, an Evron is consulted first. Whenever the Council of the Six is held, it is chaired by an Evron. 200 years after Jase’s discovery, they are still the first family in Lalenth.

The current Lord Evron is Emmeth Evron. He is an elderly widower and spends much of his time preparing his eldest son Marsin, to rule in his place when he is gone. Marsin is well loved by the people, being tall, handsome, and chivalrous and an able leader. He is as yet unmarried and many young ladies, noble and otherwise, dream of attracting his attention. Emmeth has two other children: a daughter, Verita, and another son, Willam. The ascendancy of the house secured and his line assured; Emmeth has every right to die a contented man.

The only cloud on their contented horizon is the uneasiness between themselves and the Aeolus Family. Before the discovery of the Threads, it was the Aeolus family who occupied the position of honour now held by the Evrons. Although both families treat one another with respect, one cannot help but wonder why House Aeolus so meekly ceded control.

Recently, great tragedy befell the Evron household. Willam, a child of only 12 years, went out on a hunting trip. His sister had pleaded with Lord Evron to prevent him from going fearing what might befall him. Emmeth however was too soft hearted to refuse his youngest sons whim. The hunting party disappeared. Two days later Willam walked back into the city alone. He had no memory of what had happened to him nor did he seem to care. His dreamy demeanour raised terrible fear that was soon realised when his brown eyes turned metallic blue. He was Altered.

Blake Alacosts’ Guide to Lalenth Fashion:

It as always been my highest pleasure to dress the Evron family. Their nobility is mirrored in the classic elegance of their dress. The family’s colours of black and ivory are worked into their formal gowns using a combination of blackwork and lace. Neatly tailored breeches and shirts for the gentlemen of this family are complimented by the lady’s fitted bodices and long skirts, which are flattened at the front and full behind. Cloaks of soft and richly decorated fabric show that the members of this family do not need to worry about practical day to day wear and tear. The Lady Verita Evron, always the epitome of elegance and grace, wears her hair jewelled with ropes of pearls and is emulated by many of the city’s elite.
