The Evron Family
Lord Jase Evron had always been fascinated with light and reflections. He would spend hours watching rainbows and drawing them in meticulous detail. Nothing reflected the light as beautifully as the electric blue lalenthrium. Light falling upon it would shatter into all colours imaginable and Jase Evron would stare at it entranced. He commissioned the head of the Smiths Guild to create for him a mirror backed with lalenthrium. Such excess had seldom been seen. When it was completed it was hailed as one of the most beautiful objects ever made. Its frame was made of mother of pearl and the lalenthrium back protected by fine crystal glass. It was upon gazing into this wondrous object that Jase saw the fine twisting strands of colour and light that surrounded him. Hence the Threads were discovered. Ever since this vital discovery, the Evron family has enjoyed elite status. If any matters of great importance arise, an Evron is consulted first. Whenever the Council of the Six is held, it is chaired by an Evron. 200 years after Jase's discovery, they are still the first family in Lalenth. The current first lord of Lalenth is Lord Marsin Evron. Marsin is a popular man with the people and well loved. He is known for his generosity and compassion, recently giving over a third of his mansion to the care of the Altered Ones. Whilst this had made him well thought of by the common populous there is some concern amongst the upper echelons of society that it is damaging that perception of rank necessary for effective leadership. This was recently compounded by his choice of a wife; the former Wordsmith Siobhan O'Reilly. It is understood that there were some strong objections amongst the Council of Six, who possess the right to veto any head of house's marriage in event of a majority objecting. It is not known how Marsin overcame their opposition, but overcome it he did and the new Lady Evron is now trying to discover her place in the world. The Evron family has had a difficult few years. Marsin's father, Emmeth Evron, an elderly widower, passed away shortly after his daughter Verita was killed in what was reported as a tragic accident. Her death occurred at the wedding of the Master Artificer, Jaime Evron. Rumours began to seep through the city following her death, suggesting that she had not been killed in an accident but had been murdered by one Falco Aeolus. Falco's subsequent exile from the city only served to confirm these rumours. This incident has only served to exacerbate the long standing tension between House Evron and House Aeolus. Before the discovery of the Threads, it was the Aeolus family who occupied the position of honour now held by the Evrons. Although both families treat one another with respect, one cannot help but wonder why House Aeolus so meekly ceded control. Public relationships between the two houses are civil yet frosty but there is a general concern the "Falco Incident" will prove to have permanently driven a wedge between these most powerful of houses. A further burden for Marsin is his younger brother Willem. Two years ago, Willem was Altered whilst on a hunting trip. The 14 year old is now in the care of the Apothecaries Guild and can provide no support to his brother. Until Lady Evron provides her husband with a child, the heir apparent is Master Artificer Jaime Evron, and his infant daughter, Neroli. House Evron is in what is sadly a rare position amongst the Great Six bloodlines. The line of succession is assured. Notable member s of House Evron Lord Marsin Evron: Head of House and leader of the Council of Six Lady Siobhan Evron: His wife and former member of the Wordsmith's Guild, nee O' Reilly Lord Willem Evron; Marsin's brother, and Altered one and as such removed from the line of succession.
